ACSIM i an examination centre which has an agreement with CVCL, which is the valuation and language certification centre of the Università per Stranieri in Perugia. This university promotes and develops activities of study and research in examination and valuation of the language skills and knowledge.
The CVCL centre plans and propose exams for the achievement of language certificates proving the level of Italian knowledge, alo according to the different usage contexts. These certificates are consideraded as part of the most important language certificates issued by the countries members of the Assocation of Language Testers in Europe and refr to the learning objectives set by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. They also are considered as official qualifications issued by an Italian university of international repute, which has been recognized as a certification body by the Italian Ministry for Foreiggn Affairs since 1993.
The CVCL centre issues two kinds of Italian language certificates:
- CELI – Certificate of Knowledge of Italian Language
CELI certificates are divided into many kinds according to the level ( from A1, known as CELI Impatto, to C2 known as CELI 5). If you need further information, please contact ACSIM.
2. DILS-PG – Certificate in “Teaching Italian as Foreign Language”
DILS-PG exam certifies a teacher’s basic training, that is the theoretical knowledge, the pedagogical-didactic awarness and the ability to teach Italian aside from the context and from the students’ age, level and previous knowledge.
PREREQUISITES
For the Italian applicants:
a) University degree (at least a thre-year one) in “Italian Language and Culture”, “Teaching the Italian Language and Culture to Foreigners” or “Italian Language and Culture in situations of contact”.
b) Any university degree ( at least a three-year one) and having taught Italian or any other foreign language for at least 400 hours in the past few years.
c) High school diploma and having taught Italian or any other foreign language for at least 1500 hours in the past few years.
For the foreign applicants:
Same prerequisites required from the Italian applicants. In addition, they need a certificate proving that their Italian knowledge ( at least B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
HOW THE EXAM IS STRUCTURED
The DILS-PG exam comprises just a written test divided into three parts:
- Theoretical knowledge (language teaching and metalinguistic knowledge)
- Methodological and educational awarness ( analysis of educational materials, management capacities and Media Education)

Applications must arrive at our examination centre by the annual application deadline and not later. A copy of the documents proving the required prerequisites must be attached to the application form to take the exam.
